Village of Dimondale Receives Record-Breaking $750,000 in State Funding
EATON COUNTY, Mich., June 28, 2023 — Today, the Michigan legislature passed a historic state budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year. Commissioner Jacob Toomey (Windsor Township) applauds Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Township) & Sen. Sarah Anthony (Lansing) for securing nearly $1 Million in funding for projects in the Village of Dimondale.
The Village of Dimondale will receive $750,000 from public infrastructure grants to purchase and upgrade a new building for village administration.
“This appropriation marks the largest investment ever in the Village of Dimondale by the State of Michigan,” said Commissioner Jacob Toomey. “Thanks to the efforts of the state legislature, Dimondale will be able to expand upon the excellent services and community programming it already provides.”
The Village intends to purchase and renovate the building located at 162 N Bridge St Dimondale, MI 48821, currently occupied by the First Presbyterian Church of Dimondale. The church has faced financial hardships due to declining membership in recent years.
“This building has been serving the community for over 100 years,” said Village President Ralph Reznick. “Thanks to the advocacy of our State Representative & Senator, that legacy will continue stronger than ever as we partner with community organizations to provide expanded services from this new location.”
